Port of Karlshamn shows strong growth in number of calls and cargo volumes in 2024
According to the annual statistics for 2024 from the Swedish Maritime Administration, the Port of Karlshamn has had a significant increase in both the number of calls and cargo volumes, and based on cargo volume, the Port of Karlshamn is the eighth largest port in Sweden (out of 52).
- Increase in number of calls : The Port of Karlshamn increased by 17% in number of calls in 2024, which is the largest percentage increase among Swedish ports.
- Increase in cargo volumes : Cargo volumes in the Port of Karlshamn increased by 10% compared to 2023, corresponding to an increase of 362,737 tons. This places the Port of Karlshamn in joint third place in cargo volume growth among Swedish ports.
The Port of Karlshamn continues to play an important role in Sweden's shipping and contributes to socially critical port operations by handling increased volumes of goods and ship calls.
