A safe port

The Port of Karlshamn is governed by the ISPS Code, the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. This regulation covers the protection of ships and port facilities and is regulated in Sweden by the Maritime Security Act (2004:487). The Swedish Transport Agency is the supervisory authority. As the regulatory body, the Transport Agency has established and approved security assessments and security plans for the Port of Karlshamn in accordance with the ISPS Code. Based on this, the port areas are classified as secure areas.

All transport and matters related to the Port of Karlshamn must pass through designated gates, following the applicable access procedures. Only authorized personnel are permitted within the port area. Authorized personnel are defined as individuals who have been issued an access card by the Port of Karlshamn. Please note that Sutudden is also classified as a protected area.
