Decision on preparation for the start of construction in 2027-2029 for the Southeast Link. Decisive milestone!
The government has decided to grant the start of construction for the South East link in 2027–2029, after taking part in the Swedish Transport Administration's benefit and cost analysis. Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson (KD) emphasizes that the benefits of the project have never been questioned, but that the government prioritized cost control. The Swedish Transport Agency has proposed savings of SEK 587 million, and the regional cost contribution has increased to SEK 900 million.
Carlson also emphasizes the importance of regional and business involvement. The project is important for business, freight transport and passenger traffic, and is also important for the port of Karlshamn and the development of the region. The government sees no risk of further delays.
