New ferry line between Karlshamn and Gdańsk officially inaugurated
On August 12, the official inauguration of the new ferry line between Karlshamn and Gdańsk with the operator POLSCA took place at a ceremony in Karlshamn Port, where Poland's Ambassador to Sweden, H.E. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, performed the official ribbon-cutting.
Traffic on the line began in early July, and the official inauguration marked the start of a new long-term ferry connection between Sweden and Poland. The new direct connection offers a new transport option for freight and passenger traffic across the southern Baltic Sea and complements existing ferry connections between the two countries.
The new line is operated by POLSCA's RoPax vessels Skania and Copernicus. There are six departures per week, and the crossing between Karlshamn and Gdańsk takes approximately 13 hours.
Representatives from Sweden and Poland, business, and the public sector attended the inauguration. Inaugural speeches were given by H.E. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, Poland's Ambassador to Sweden, Piotr Redmerski from POLSCA, Magnus Gärdebring, Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board in Karlshamn Municipality, and Mats Olausson, Chairman of the Board of Karlshamn Port, and Caroline Säfström, CEO of Karlshamn Port.

Together with POLSCA, we have established a new direct connection between Karlshamn and Gdańsk, and now we look forward to developing the line further with our customers and partners, says Caroline Säfström, CEO of Karlshamn Port.
The new line complements existing ferry connections between Poland and Sweden and creates additional capacity and options for transport buyers in the region.
