Chief Engineer for our tugboats
We are looking for a qualified Chief Engineer for our tugboat fleet which consists of 3 tugboats and 2 workboats.
In the role of Chief Engineer, you will have overall responsibility for the operation and maintenance of machinery and technical systems on board. You are responsible for ensuring that the ship's machinery functions efficiently and safely. The position is both operational and strategic, and involves close cooperation with the master and the rest of the crew.
The role also includes being on standby every four weeks.
Job duties:
- Responsibility for operation, maintenance and repairs of machinery, engines and other technical systems on board
- Planning and implementation of preventive maintenance and inspections
- Documentation and reporting of maintenance work, as well as management of technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Who are you?
We see that you have:
- Qualification as a chief engineer at least class III and it is desirable to have a marine engineering degree.
- Experience as a chief engineer or engineer officer on a tugboat or similar vessel.
- Deep technical knowledge of marine engines and machinery including electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong safety mindset, structured and ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Ability to handle urgent technical problems under time pressure.
You are a committed and experienced Chief Engineer with solid technical expertise and a strong safety mindset. You are a problem solver and enjoy finding solutions quickly even in pressured situations. As a leader, you are structured and have the ability to motivate and lead the team. We believe that you have an eye for detail, but also the ability to see the big picture and work proactively to optimize operations and minimize downtime.
