The Port of Karlshamn has a strategic location at the crossroads of new trade routes between Scandinavia and the growing markets of Eastern Europe. Southeastern Sweden is an industry-dense region, with companies generating large freight flows to both the west and the east.
Flights, trains and motor traffic routes
The distance to the nearest airport, Kallinge/Ronneby, is 30 km. The airport has several daily flight connections to Stockholm (both Arlanda and Bromma). At the Port of Karlshamn, railway tracks extend to the quay and warehouses. The port is located only 2 km from the electrified Blekinge Coastal Railway. The shunting yard is currently located at Karlshamn Central, but the port can also be accessed directly from the west via a triangular track. In the future, the shunting yard will be relocated to the port area. The track leading to the Intermodal Terminal is electrified.
The Port of Karlshamn is just 2 km from the E22 motorway towards Malmö and the R29 towards Växjö. All traffic can bypass the city center.
