Successful days at TransportLogistic for Port of Karlshamn

The expansion of the ferry port in Port of Karlshamn runs according to plan. The construction work continues in order to welcome the new big 230 m long DFDS RoPax-vessels in the summer of 2021

A new record is set in Port of Karlshamn. Over 60.000 cubic metres of sawn timber from exporters in South Sweden, is now loaded on the vessel ”Saga Fuji”. That is all- time-high in the history of the port, for loading of sawn timber on one and the same vessel. The volume is equivalent to more than 1.000 lorries with trailer. If the lorries are placed on the road, they would create a queue 25 kilometres long. ”Saga Fuji” has a length of 200 metres, a width of 32 metres and a cargo capacity of 55.400 tons deadweight. The big load will fill the whole vessel, also on deck, in Karlshamn, before departure to USA. ”Saga Fuji” belongs to the norwegian shipping company Saga Welco and the local port agent is Becoship AB.
